Okay, we admit it, we are new to it. The cafe, which was opened on Dec 15, 2000 is our first project in providing food and entertainment for public. However! First, we are experienced in managing business although in a different field, second, we are experienced in going to restaurants in many places in the world, and third, a novice has got a fresh look at things and some extra luck, doesn't one?

Unfortunately, the beginning was not too lucky. Construction plan of poor quality, organizational problems, authorities' changing decisions, national ruble crisis etc. etc. resulted in a 3-year useless existence of a strange structure noticed by many. But in the new millenium, we began feeling ashamed and decided that we are strong enough to bring this to… a start. According to the strange tastes of the founders, three options were discussed, Wild West, popular band, famous book. All of a sudden, one of the participants of the historic meeting said, I know where to steal lots of funny stuff for the interior, and Captain Nemo won.

Half of the management of the company well known in town was temporarily dismissed and thrown at the new project. Finishing construction, designing layouts for the guest room and personnel' facilities, creating ideas for interior, outside planning, purchasing equipment, signing 20,000 official papers and licenses, recruiting employees, planning the menu and wine carte, negotiating with suppliers, trial servicing… all this was done in just 7 or 8 months.

Eventually, on December 15, 2000 at noon, an “open“ sign was put on the door, and the personnel began waiting with bated breath for a first customer. In three minutes, a poorly shaved man of an indefinite age came in, shot a Bloody Mary and withdrew quickly. However, after that we are servicing mainly the public we were planning to, some middle class people of a certain level of educational and social status.

So, by the moment this text is being written, we have been working for about two months. We are not going to praise ourselves but would rather refer you to the Guestbook, which was filled up in three weeks, unexpectedly, making us start a Second Volume. Despite many small things that need to be corrected, we are generally happy with our start and hope to do even better in the nearest future. It looks like things work pretty close to what we planned which is a pleasing news.
