Too bad, this news is sad and might be last. After
almost 8 years of work "Captain Nemo" is closed,
may be forever. The reasons that killed the profits
are known, those are poorly constracted building,
squealing neighbors, general tear and wear.
If during first 5-6
years these things were compensated by the good idea,
nowadays customers are much more spoiled and
restaurant business requires serious investments
of time and money, punishing every shortcoming, while
this cafe has always been a side business for us.
So now we are forced to close it down. However!
We keep the building. So who knows, may
be "Captain Nemo" will revive in a few years... here or
somewhere.

space is coming! The snow is gone, waste removed,
flowers are sowed, papers are almost ready! It's
going to be warm, cozy and tasty soon. Lighthouse
is in order and cars passing by resemble

Our cafe was postively
mentioned in a Vybiray magazin
review, in a somewhat unexpected context.
They described how a customer with a dog
was treated in Gubernator, Milan, Domino,
Captain Nemo and
Gulliver cafes. Comparison with Europe
was flattering. That's right, we usually
don't reject
a two-feet customer even if he comes with
a four-feet friend.

Captain Nemo is successfully cloned! After three
years of firm resistance against bad weather and
vandalism the plastic figure
was finally injured fatally. However, public
does not seem to notice substitution and
studies the menu with same curiousity as before,
under Captain's close surveillance.

Our cafe contributed into supporting an
end-of-the season alpine skiing event,
which was arranged at the Kostenki
ski-club (www.kostenSki.h11.ru).
Each champion in the men's,
women's and veterans' categories,
after 2 attempts on a 350-mr slalom
course was awarded a dinner at our cafe,
a season pass for the next year and the
prizes from Elmar company.
More prizes were also presented to
silver and bronze medalists and children.
The event was followed by the barbeque and
chatting about the unusually snowy season
of 2003-2004.

Not too good news, a thaw that followed very heavy
snowfalls caused a big ice avalanche which
came down from the roof of the next building
right to our submarine's cover. To our customers'
credit, nobody left our ship despite
horrible sounds. Luckily, consequences turned
to be mostly cosmetical, and are
liquidated by now.

We are sorry... for this big gap in news posting.
However, now with our new admin, everything is
going to be much better! For now, a short report
about what happened lately. 1) A real 6-meter
sailboat wrecked right by the Cafe entrance gave
a unique look to Prospect Revolutsii street.
2) The menu and wine list are significantly
upgraded. 3) Our outside space receded
under the bad weather pressure and was closed
down until next April.

Happy New Year to everybody and especially to those who was lucky to get a ticket for our New Year show! All 20 tickets
were sold out and the Night went joyfully and palatably, which was noted in our Guestbook (volume 5 already!). Also,
all the guests received fancy souvenirs and were granted a Privileged Customer title.

Dec 15 at noon an exact year went by since Captain Nemo was open, which event was celebrated
with a great pleasure, tasty stuff and a big joy. All space was occupied, disappointing those who were late with
reservations.
Vasya diver envied the guests and requested a dance but was not allowed, since work is work. Our sea-life, namely
the crab, singing fish, turtle, cat-fish and lobster sang along with music. The lighthouse's beacon
flashed, and the Captain
thought about the year passed and as always dreamed about the freedom of India.

Sold out completely, the seminar organized by Computerra newspaper and Elmar company was
held the other day. Evgeny Kozlovsky is certain the film photography is in the past and soon film cameras will
be as hard to find as 8 mm film movie cameras are now. We can trust him, with his vast experience. Mr.Kozlovsky
shared that experience generously and demonstrated his beautiful works on the computer screen. Thank you all
for a wonderful event!

To our greatest regret, we received a message from Mr. Kozlovsky yesterday notifying
he won't be
able to be here on Oct 23 due to a very bad cold. He asked that we defer the seminar to
a second half of November after he is back form his trip to the USA. We apologize
for inconvenience. You can either keep your ticket until Noveber or return it for a full refund.

be paved with new bricks. We will open an hour
earlier, at 11am. Just outside,
a Contest for street musicians will
be held by "Moyo!" newspaper.
At 9pm, as usually on Sundays,
you will enjoy a live jazz
concert.

prepared for public: Ocean
Breeze salad,
Texas salad, Mushroom salad, Baked mussels,
Ukha with sturgeon and salmon (Russian
clear soup). In a few days, they will be added to
the menu, so come check them out!

from the fresh beans. Very strong
espresso can be made, just like in Italy.

although space is permitting,
not to hurt the quality
